Manifesto: A public declaration of policy and aims. 

In 1998, designer Bruce Mau created a manifesto that articulated his values and those of his design studio. That studio design and innovation studio centered on purpose and optimism.

Choose one of the maxims from that manifesto and create a poster using all the text from it.

Prepping for Mid-Year Review

Before Wednesday:

Make sure your Poster series are pinned up

Make sure your Dissect posters are up

Before Thursday:

Make any changes to your posters (if you need any other than what you do for Wednesday)

Be ready to turn in PDF

Week 14 Day 1

Today in class, we are:

Choosing one of your two series for your posters

Working on revising one of the series and adding the third individual

For next time:

Bring in a draft for your full series of 3 individuals – NASA mathematicians or Mars rovers – with revisions from our discussions today.

Week 13 Day 2

Today in class, we are:

Looking at your final set of studies for the Poster project

Talking about choosing, revising, and expanding those to make a set of 3 posters.

Working on choosing and refining those.

For next time:

Choose two of your posters to refine and expand to a set.

Refine each and create one of the two companion posters for each.

So, bring in two sets of two posters.

Mid-Year Review/Open House

The Design Mid-Year Review is both serious and fun. It’s serious in that work needs to be up fully and on time. It’s fun in that you get to show your work off to a larger audience and see the work from other classes.

Poster: Finish

As a finish to this project, we’re going to expand the strongest of your studies into a series of posters, one for each woman (or Mars rover). 

In the end, you’ll have a final set of 3 posters that share a visual language and each tell us about a different person (or Mars rover).

Dimensions are the same as before. Color restrictions are the same as before. The strong suggestion to use a grid is the same as before.
